During the wound healing process, KGF promotes the division and epidermalization of skin tissue, enabling complete wound healing. KGF binds to FGF2 receptor 2b (FGFR2b) present on the cell membrane of keratinocytes and stimulates them. KGF interacts with EGF, IGF, and a/bFGF to prevent skin aging and is an essential factor for the healthy recovery of wounded skin.
